Mango Lassi


Mango Lassi

























An authentic mango lassi requires perfectly ripe, tender mangoes. At the market, look for fruit that feels heavy for its size and gives off a sweet, heady perfume.

Ingredients:

Serves 2 1/2 cups
1 cup fresh mango *
1 cup plain yogurt**
1/4 cup sugar or honey (I prefer honey)
12 ice cubes
Cardamom powder - half teaspoon
Pinch of Saffron thread

Peel the mango skin and separate the pulp from the seed. Discard seed.
Substitute 1 cup canned mango pulp in case you don't have fresh mangoes.
If using sweetened mango pulp, reduce the amount of sugar or honey in the recipe.
Combine all the ingredients in a mixer/blender.

Adjust the ingredients as per your taste.

Serve cold.
